Ordinance 2026-04 – Recycling Ordinance Update
On October 19, 2026, the Village of Theresa Board adopted Ordinance 2026-04, updating Chapter 297, Article I of the Village Code relating to recycling.
The ordinance was updated to comply with current Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) requirements for responsible-unit recycling programs. The updated ordinance establishes requirements for the separation, preparation, collection, and proper disposal of recyclable materials and outlines recycling responsibilities for residential properties, multiple-family dwellings, and nonresidential properties.
The update also retains the Village’s existing local garbage and recycling collection, billing, dumpster, and curbside collection provisions and clarifies requirements for multiple-family dwellings.
