Waste Management 2010 Holiday Waste & Recyclable Pick-Up

If the holiday falls during the business week and it is before your pick up day, your pick up schedule will fall one day later for the week. If the holiday is on a Saturday or Sunday, the pick up schedule does not change.

Brush/Yard Waste-Dumpsite located in the rear area of River's Edge Park (Mill St.) and is open April thru November, weather permitting. This site is for yard waste only; leaves, branches 6" in diameter or less and un-bagged yard waste will be accepted.

Items should be placed on the curb in an orderly fashion. Building material, yard waste, garbage and recyclables will not be accepted.

There is a $2 charge for the pick-up of tires and a $15-$25 charge for large appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, washers, dryers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, etc...

NOTE: The village will no longer collect the following items: electronics including: computers, computer monitors, printers, televisions, VCR's, DVD players, other video players (DVR's), fax machines and telephones with video displays (i.e. cellphones). Residents may drop these items off at Goodwill Retail Services 130 Frances Lane in Beaver Dam or Veolia Solid Waste Midwest, LLC - N7296 Hwy V in Horicon.

Sewer & Water Utility readings and billings take place on a quarterly basis.
The charges are as follows:
* $13.23 fixed water charge,
* $25.00 fixed sewer charge (set by the Public Service Commission), a water and sewer usage charge, (based on the volume/amount of gallons used in a quarter).

The water volume charge is $2.48 per 1,000 gallons and sewer charge is $8.04 per 1,000 gallons.

There is also a charge in the amount of $25.92 applied quarterly for refuse pick up (solid waste & recyclables).

The Village will no longer provide recycling bins. Bins may be purchased from an independant retailer such as Wal-Mart, Fleet Farm or Menards or other. No specific size, shape or color is required.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

ADOPTION OF NEW FLOODPLAIN ZONING REGULATIONS & FLOODPLAIN MAPS

I hereby certify that on Monday March 1, 2010 the Village Board of the Village of Theresa introduced an entirely new FLOODPLAIN ZONING ORDINANCE and FLOODPLAIN MAPS. The newly adopted ordinance and maps will provide a uniform basis for the preparation, implementation and administration of sound floodplain regulations for all floodplains within the Village of Theresa. In addition to the adoption of the entirely new floodplain zoning ordinance and new floodplain maps, the repeal of the current floodplain ordinance will be placed on the agenda at a PUBLIC HEARING to be held at 7:00pm on Monday April 5, 2010 at the Theresa Village Hall, 202 S. Milwaukee Street, Theresa, Wisconsin. The Village of Theresa Board of Trustees will convene into Open Session of a Special Village Board Meeting immediately following the Public Hearing to consider adoption of Resolution 546-2010, a resolution repealing the current floodplain ordinance, adopting the new floodplain zoning ordinance and adoption of the new floodplain maps.
